This short film, “Guerrilla Gardens. Can You Dig It?” , won first place at the first annual Screening and Awards Gala for the “5 Minutes to Change Your World” contest at Open Studios on March 9th, 2008 in Vancouver BC.

Produced and directed by David Henderson-Hean, his guerilla style directing blends extremely well with the subject matter at hand. We here at Savoury City believe that we have to look at all aspects of how our food is grown, and if the latest news concerning large food producers is any indication, the issues are pressing.

Andrea Bellamy, a Vancouver based garden writer, has a blog called "Heavy Petal" where you can learn more about growing vegetables on the west coast. We like the part about the seed balls!
