BBQ Wedding


   the Story


What a wonderful way to begin a new life together…padding around on the dock at your cottage on Bowen Island…basking in the sunshine in sundresses, Bermuda shorts and flip flops, and having all your friends and family gathered around you to wish you a happy life together! The wedding ceremony will take place a short walk away from the cottage, at approximately 2:30 in the afternoon.

Most guests will begin to arrive on the island around 4:15, and we will greet them with a signature cocktail…a refreshing Mojito. Wine, beer and mixed drinks will also be available from the bar. Our service staff will tray pass a fabulous selection of both hot and cold hors d’oeuvres, as well as the signature hors d’oeuvres– chilled jumbo prawns, tail-on, with cocktail sauce!

At 6:00, guests will be invited over to the "Burger Bar" to really feast! Home made AAA Beef burgers, as well as wild BC Salmon burgers, will be served hot off the grill, complete with all the fixings. At approximately 8:00, our service staff will serve up the wedding cake, along with freshly scooped gelato into waffle cones. A selection of BC cheeses and fresh fruits will also be put out for guests to nibble on.

Tray Passed Hors D’oeuvres

Vegetarian Salad Rolls
Julienne of carrots, celery, sweet red peppers, mango and jicama wrapped in rice paper…served with Asian dipping sauce and spicy peanut sauce
Zucchini & Haloumi Fritters
A golden brown fritter of zucchini and sharp Mediterranean cheese topped with dill crème fraiche
Coconut-Chicken Lemongrass Skewers
Minced chicken, spring onions, cilantro and mint, wrapped around a lemongrass ‘skewer’ and served with a sweet chili sauce…served warm
Grilled Baby Lamb Chops
Marinated in Dijon, garlic and herbs, and served with a sundried blueberry chutney…served warm
Prosciutto Rolls
With lemon scented goat’s cheese, fig preserves and arugula
Poached Jumbo Prawns
Served chilled and tail on, so family and friends can honor the tradition of pitching the tails off the deck!

AAA Beef Burgers & Wild BC Salmon Burgers
Fresh off the grill! Complete with all the classic accompaniments…sliced red onions, pickles, relish, mustard, ketchup, lettuce, tomatoes, and cheddar cheese…and of course, assorted Kaiser buns
Crunchy Summer Salad
The best of summer…crisp cucumbers, red and yellow bell peppers, radishes, tomatoes, chickpeas and crisp romaine lettuce in a refreshingly bold lemon-cilantro vinaigrette
Vine-Ripened Tomato & Grilled Vegetable Salad
Fresh, juicy vine-ripened tomatoes along with grilled asparagus, peppers, zucchini, eggplant and yams…tossed with fresh basil, extra-virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar
Spinach & Romaine Salad
With fresh strawberries, oranges, toasted almonds and an orange vinaigrette
Orzo Pasta Salad
With feta cheese, red peppers and asparagus with a lemony dressing
