While there is no shortage of possible venue spaces in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, popular ones tend to book well in advance- In some cases years in advance! Having said that, there are also plenty of spaces off the beaten track that could be acquired at fairly short notice, depending of course on the type of event planned. If you're looking to book an intimate birthday party for 20 or so family and friends we'd eagerly suggest Baldwin House located on Burnaby Lake. Or if it's a wedding space you're after, have you considered the Nikkei Centre?
Regardless of what venue you choose, It is essential to consider what isn't there... Is there a kitchen your caterer can work out of easily? Are tables and chairs part of the rental package? What about noise bylaws that might otherwise curtail a great party?
