Friday I had an epiphany...

The day began without high expectations: an all-day business meeting with a working lunch. But things started to look up when the food arrived - my pulse quickened when I saw the telltale Savoury City tags dangling from the platters. The dessert platter consisted of one-of-a-kind confections - truly things of beauty. I chose a powdery white ball, which I assumed was a Russian teacake or Mexican wedding cookie. But I was wrong. When I bit into it... oh my. A soft, sweet frangipani loveliness, rolled in tender pine nuts, dusted with icing sugar. *Never* *ever* could I have imagined such perfection in a cookie. I have no recollection of the rest of the meeting - it's a blur of sweet dreams.

It was no surprise that such a confection came from the kitchen of Savoury City. Three years earlier, I had hired Savoury City to cater my parents 40th wedding anniversary. My friends and family are still talking about it. In fact, there's a treasured family photo taken that day: my parents, the kids, their spouses, grandkids and dogs, all crowded around the food, wearing huge grins. The photo hangs on the living room wall, reminding us every day that good food and good company is the stuff of life.

Thanks Savoury City - your food is truly a revelation.

Hi Candace,

Thank you so much for everything! We are very happy with the service we received from Savoury City, both leading up to the wedding and during the event. The day went so well and we are so happy. A lot of people asked who our caterer was as they did such an awesome job. The food was excellent and the staff was very professional and efficient. They packed up so quickly and effectively we barely noticed they were there - but I mean that in a good way! We would recommend Savoury City to anyone!

We also really appreciated your support leading up to the wedding and changing plans last minute, it was great not to have to stress about you guys being pushy or not understanding. I also appreciated that I could call and everyone was aware of what was going on and were so supportive.

Again thank-you so much.

Do you want me to send a cheque or do you want take the final payment off the visa card?

Cheers,
Martine

Dear Dorothy,

I just wanted to email to congratulate you on a job well done at Arts Career Expo. On behalf of the planning committee, I am sure I can speak for all of us in saying THANK YOU!

As the first catering company I have ever worked with, you have been incredibly accommodating to our needs in terms of budget, quantity, selection, and labeling. I really appreciate how thoughtful you have been through the entire planning process. At the event, the service provided was professional, efficient, and extremely attentive. The students, staff, and alumni have all commented on the wonderful food.

The delicious food and excellent service provided by Savuory City has raised the bar of expectation for future events. I am looking forward to working with Savoury City at future events.

Best Regards,

Hello Donna,

I have just returned from my summer holidays and have been "computerless" for the last two months which accounts for the delay in this letter. I did want to take some time to say thank you for your part in what was an outstanding party for my daughter's graduation/new job/move to Toronto celebration back on July 3rd.

The food was wonderful, the presentation lovely and most importantly for my husband - there was plenty. Our guests know to come with appetites to our home, especially when Vic is involved in the planning....you should know he was quite prepared to head out to the grocery store if he felt the table wasn't full enough!

Your quantity assessment was bang on - there was not much left over, friends and family had lovely things to say about how fabulous the food was and I even managed to produce the items that needed to go into the oven with out anything catching on fire........

Thanks again,
Dianne Senra

Joan, (fwd to Donna)

Okay - I have to say, that was some of the most AMAZING food I've had in all my years - Not just as being a vegetarian, but as being on this planet!!!!!

I *COMPLETELY* forgot to get a card, but I HAVE to know where this came from.  I will quit eBay and work there if they provide me with free food!!!

Thank you again so much, you have no idea how many times I CRINGE going to gatherings like this and thinking "Huh, so I'll probably have some horrible macaroni salad and feel horrible afterwards"

This... oh no, not at all - This I could have stayed all day picking at the food - I wish I'd have realized just how good it was earlier and taken it all home in a TRUCK!!!

You rock Joan, you are my new favorite person at eBay VBC now... heck, VBC AND SLC!!

Nick
